Jet Trick

I know most people frown upon the use of Jet because of the addiction, but it can be a great tool you can use in your quest to finish the game. The effects most people notice from Jet is the boost in AP and perception followed with the large adverse affects.

Using this trick I have discovered, I have gained up to 30 action points permanently using Jet with the Jet antidote, also my perception was boosted up to 10 permanently as a side effect of the jet. You can do this by using two jet canisters, and then if your addicted, a shot of the antidote (the total amount of times you can use the antidote is large but random). After you have taken the jet/if needed antidote, rest for one or two days to allow the adverse side effects off the jet to go away. You will notice that you may have gained an action point or maybe lost some. Take two more Jet ampoules and the antidote if you need again. Rest again and repeat the process until you have the desired amount of action points.

I recommend splitting up the two jet antidotes you receive from Dr. Troy and use one antidote at a time. If you want to do the Redding Jet antidote quest, I would recommend giving Dr. Johnson an antidote you have used several times while keeping a fresher one for yourself.

A small problem that I noticed about doing this is that the Corsican Brothers will comment that you look a little wasted and will not let you do any movies until you “clean-up”. I believe it takes about one to two weeks of not taking jet to “clean-up” your appearance to them (can’t remember).

Please try this out as well and let me know what you think.

I think it's faster and easier to use Falche2.

RE: Jet Trick

You are right, it would be easier and quicker to use falche2, but this is more of an approach for those who do not want to use editors.

To bad they don't have a Betty Ford Center random encounter.

Which version are you using?

Which version are you using?

[font size=1" color="#FF0000]LAST EDITED ON Jul-13-02 AT 05:42AM (GMT)[p]Hi, OutOfTheBlue,

This is something I might try after I've finished the game once or twice without using any such cheese or cheats, but at this point, I'm still learning the game, working my way through it with a couple of characters, trying to avoid stretching the game that much.

However, one question I have is, what version are you using? Does this really work in the latest version (1.02d? - I have the US version), or is this another of those cheese slices that only worked in the original or early versions?

For that matter, how about the falche2 referred to? What version(s) does it work with? The only trainers/editors I've come across so far didn't make any reference to what version they were written for, so I would be very reluctant to use them unless I knew they worked reliably for 1.02d, if I did decide to play around with a trainer.

Oh, Lord, where is my brain tonight? Obviously not in control of my computer, that's for sure! :)

Sorry, fellow Fallout2 fans. I do usually sign my posts, as appended below.

RE: Which version are you using?

I am playing of the US 1.02d verion. The trick with the Jet and Jet Antidote worked with the first version and and does work with 1.02d.

The Falache2 editor does work with the version I have, I don't know if it works with other version of Fallout 2. You may want to ask some of the more experienced players than me about editor/trainer compatability.

I got the idea about being a Jet-head from watching junkies run great distances in combat mode because of their high amounts of action points. I don't think this is a bug or at least an uddiscovered one.

1) Of course it's a glitch. Or do you think they snuck in a little secret way to gain infinite ST/PE/AP expecting people to use it if they found it? :)

2) It's not undiscovered, either. If you check the board archives you'll find several threads from years back mentioning the Jet bug.

Right.

Damn, I thought I discovered something new, oh well. Heh, you even mentioned it in that awesome walkthrough you wrote, Per. Just finally going over that nice little piece now. I am still wet behind the ears, but learning. :-)

Thanks,

Falche2 edits the Saved Game and works perfectly well with 1.02d saved games. Since I've already finished the game with numerous different types (snipers, diplomat, big gunner, HtH figher and so on), I use it mainly to experience the new "secrets" I pick up from this forum. BTW, when I cheat, I really cheat. My current char has every stats at 10, every skills at 300% and 255 ranks of "swift learner." (over 600 xp for killing a standard mutated rat. LOL) I'm trying to get the Captain of the Guards stuff from Lynette.
