Little poll : best critical hit you've ever done

My personal record is 1302 points of damage, but I bet that many of you beat this easily...so who has the record?

hummhh.... you just barely made it past my record, which was 1255 points.... :-) what weapon did you get it with? I got mine with the vindicator minigun at the enclave. Screenshot below...

Now's a good time to address another thing, since the screenshot happens to show it... The skilldex-button is black. I can't press it in the game. I don't know exactly when it happened, but I think it was either in the enclave or after reading some holodisc. The same has once happened to the alarm-clock button in the pip-boy screen... fixed with a reload. But still an odd bug. Anyone else encountered this?

I encountered this numerous times. This happened to me a lot in F1. Not so much in F2. Restarting (not reloading) seems to work and put the button back. It is annoying but you can get the skilldex to appear by hitting the S key.

Wow, very cool screenshot I must admit! Well, my own record was established with a bozar, and the unfortunate victim was an alien (or wanamingo...dunno the right translation). I guess your record is more impressive than mine then, cause enclave soldiers are damn resistant compared to basic aliens! Congratulations, saboteur.

Oh btw, I didn't know till your screenshot that the lower part of the screen ("interface") was exisiting in different versions...probably the US one and an european one. As for your problem, I never encountered it, but a friend of mine did. It was a problem of patch if I remember correctly...Ah well...A last thing : how do you take a screenshot?

Heh, I never needed the button anyway, I had memorized all the skill numbers years ago :-)

Pressing F12 will take a screenshot anywhere in the game (including the character screen), except in the middle of ANY sequences. Which is a shame, because it would've been cool to get a screenshot at the exact moment with your minigun barrels rolling and people exploding into bits of flesh... What, don't look at me like that! Just an idea! :-)

Oh, btw, what did you mean with your question on the interface "existing" in different versions?

about your screenshot, why didnt the enclave soldier die once u shot him for the amazing amount of damage... (looking at the message dialog he didnt die...) and why didnt your vindicator minigun lose any ammo after you shot him without reloading? (looking at the green dots next to the gun)

The screenshot was not taken immediately after I scored the hit. I saved my game first, not even remembering that it would be a good idea to take a screenshot of it. I did get the hit with that gun, but I had reloaded it. I just scrolled the message dialog up to the point where it showed the amount once I took it.

But I have heard of much higher damage amounts (so much higher that I'd like to see those screenshots of them! :-)) also, so that kind of bursted my bubble in the first place. :-)

that still doesnt explain why it didnt say that the enclave soldier died, i dont remember them having 1200+ life....

Here's my best critical hit. I thought that I just knocked Pariah dog unconscience at first, since it ended combat. I initiated combat again, but didn't see the outline around the dog. I that's when I checked the message window and near fell out of my chair laughing.

Here's a screen shot, I scrolled it up to show how much hp it had before being hit.

The most damage I've done with on shot was 300 hp with a Bozar, shooting Dragon (lousy SOB wouldn't teach me how to fight).

ANyways, the best I have ever had is 1167 (no screeny, sorry) with a Gauss rigle to the eyes. It was agains a gay little tribal though, so it probably doesn't count...

All your damage can't beat mine.My best critical was 1702 dmg. using a vindicator minigun against a Enclave trooper.My character has the sniper perk and 144% in big guns.Anyone better than me??

Yes i got a better critical hit than you k . i killed a enclave dude with one haymaker puch i the torso.. it standed this on the screen bellow enclave guard was criticali hit for 0 hit points unforntly for him you can now see the spline from the front. enclave guard was killed

The Black square occurs when you've got too much data in the pipboy for it to handle. Either by having a screen full of quests... New Reno for example, or by having all the data logs downloaded into your pipboy. Poor thing just can't hack it.

I also lost my Skill button. It happened to me when I inserted my pip boy into the computer at vault city. I saw an image of pip boy flip me off and I downloaded a geographical file I think. After that I had no file, but you really don't need it...just use the numbers on your keyboard. Most you don't use anyway. 1 is sneak, 2 is picklock, 7 is science, 8 is repair I never use any of the other skills
