load problems

i patched fallout 2, then started my char over. everything was going great untill just after i finish everything in modoc. now, every time i leave to the world map, fallout has an illegal opperation. I tried to load my other games and get to the world map but they all say the same thing? what the hell is going on here?

Umm corrupted files......reload then repatch....then start over......manually remove old savegames too.

That sounds a bit too technical to be in the guide, I'm afraid. Hopefully you have "archived" saves from earlier in the game, or?

Oops, you did. Try starting a whole new game, run through the ToT and see if the same thing happens when you leave Arroyo; if it does, then you probably have corrupted game files. Or maybe you could have that anyway. Um. Try reinstalling the game but keeping the save files in case they're not the problem. Sorry I'm not much help here. :/

i already re-installed the game and repatched it and such. but no such luck. i think im gonna re-install and try to play withought the patch.
