I cant seem to initiate the haunted farm quest, i think your supposed to get it off the guy in the general store but i cant seem to find the dialog option am i missing something?

It was the guy in the trading post (general store). I had to talk to him a couple of times before I got the quest. There are two different dialogue menus, and I think if you ask him what he does in town he gives you the other options.

whatcha gotta do is tell the judge in the store. He'll say some stuff about a friend that used to live there. Go to the farm ask the head guy about it he'll say he went in some direction. Go to the den or Klamath and look in a bar for that missing guy. go to modoc and tell the judge he is there. THe judge won't attack the farm and go tell the dude that he can come home ;)

Alternatively, just lead the Modoc peasants into battle against the freaks at the Farm. Much more fun!
