[FO2] Money Cheats....

Money Cheats....

I know this is a bit boring, but are there any money cheats? i don't want heaps of gear, or amazing stats, just a little more money so that i can get my self healthy... thanks in advance.

Well, there are quite a number of money cheats, borderline cheats really. There's the gambling cheat, where you gamble, save when you win amd reload when you lose. There's the stealing money cheat that's very effective on the San Fran merchants. Again involving a lot of reloading, depending on your steal skill. Finally, there's the blatnant cheat: the editor cheat. Using an item editor, give yourself a lot of coins.

The only worthwhile money cheat is the one in Broken Hills where you can get the uranium refined by the ghouls and keep selling it back to them. You can amass a lot of cash that way.

You can also just get your gambling stat up to at least 130% and by then you will win while gambling almost every time.

Maybe this was fixed in a patch (i dont have the latest one. The computer i am currently playing FO2 on has a broken internet, so i am using this one for the internet exclusively), but this is not a cheat, yet i got infinite money. I was on the redding quest to guard a caravan heading to vault city. We encountered some highwaymen fighting a caravan. I waited till they duked it out, and killed the caravan master and his guards after they won. When i searched the guards' bodies, 99,999 gold was stashed away in their pockets. I could pick it up as many times as i wanted (or at least 6 :P). I dont know if this is supposed to happen or what.. I felt like i was cheatin but i kept the money anyhow cause it was koo. :)

The best ways to acquire money have already been mentioned...but...if you finish the game, go back and get the Fallout 2 Hintbook, use it (which raises a certain Gamble skill to 300%...) then you go and gamble away happily, you'll always get the best possible result :)

I know it's not a whole heap of use if you need the money to buy equipment vs. the enclave...but if you just want a bit of spending money to by some kewl stuff once you've finished...
