[FO2] New way to handle the church in the Den, problem?

I was just curious about an "evil", or good if you look at it that way, of handling the church attack in the den.

So, first i got metzgers ok to attack the church.
Then i got the info of the party that the crew watching the church is having.
Report to lara, and tell her to wait a while.
Go tell Tyler she's planning an attack.
Then go back to lara and start the fight.

Pretty usual.

Now, the kicker here was that when they were fighting and i was standing by Tyler, him shooting his desert eagle, i got a bit jealous. So, i took upon myself to "relieve" him of his weapon...and most his eyes..legs...part of head...anyhoo. This all resulted in the fight going along and ending in me standing alone with a lot of dead guards.

Now the question i had about this is that is it acceptable, in game terms? Or is it bending the rules in a naughty way?

Ehm, why would it be bending the rules?
There's a firefight, a bunch of people get killed, you take their stuff. Perfectly acceptable, I'd say.

Well true.

Just that there's no effect, so to say, from this outcome. That confuses a little peep like me.

But i guess the same would happen in Lara died and i was on her side. Noone to give the cash.

Ah well, guess i'll take it as an anti-drug victory

Also tried killing tyler and the gang after the double cross, no punishment. Seems like they are expected to die anyway

I think that you don't understand the concept of sandbox gaming.

You can do anything you want.
