[FO2] Nothing happens when I try to download the patch

Nothing happens when I try to download the patch

I'm pretty sure I need the patch, as my characters will no longer trade with one another (even if carrying nothing says "too much to carry"), but when I click on the patch downloads nothing happens at all - I just get a blank windows screen. SO what's next? Can't play the game, can't download the patch - REALLY starting to feel like I've wasted a week of precious down time. Can any one help me?

Btw, don't forget to download the savegame converter from the download section of this site, as the patch renders your savegames useless.
