Please help an idiot....

I could not find any referance to AMMO RATINGS whatsoever...mainly the different effects different types of ammo have, such as effect on AC (what does -5 mean?), DR (what is better...-35, 0 or +35?,for example) and DMG (what does 2/1 or 1/1 mean?) I'm sure this has some effect on gameplay, as i don't seem to be causing as much weapon damage as i should.

Check older posts in archives, or better yet, DIY yourself in NMA main site, go to fallout2 items, and compare the ammos yourself. It's really simple mathmatical formula, just read the manual more throughly may help, too.

It's not really explained in the manual.

No, not directly, but he was asking about DR and DT, too; so it's related to damage.

AC: Your modifier to the opponents armour class. -5 will mean the opponent has -5AC, so they're 5% more easier to hit with that ammo.

DR: Damage resistance, adds to the damage resistance of the opponent, the higher it is, the less damage you do.

DMG: The damage modifier for the ammo, 2/1 you do twice the damage, 3/2 you do 150% of the normal damage, 1/1 you do the damage it says, and 1/2 you do half the damage it says.
