[FO2] problem in the Enclave

problem in the Enclave

Hi! I'm new and my question could a bit moronish but...I have a small problem at the Enclave: I managed to kill the president and get his key, and I blew up the terminal, finally when I reach the exit room I can't seem to use the president's key on the computer console. I tried using it thru my hand and thru my inventory i get the same result: "nothing happens" what's the deal with that? can anyone help? thanks.

Did you use the key in the same room where Frank Horrigan is?
As far as I know, The key doesn´t work anywhere else. :)

actually, that was the only computer i tried to use the key on.

Um...Is your game patched? Could be some bug.
Are you sure you chose the right option from the computer?
You have to set the turrets to shoot the strongest dude in the room.

Urm, I think you have to access the computer before using the key. The computer will request a key after you try to use the defense system against frank.

sorry, I guess I should have been more precise with my problem...

well each time i try to access the computer (using the hand symbol) all i get is a cute-style description, example:"the screen says it is now safe to turn-off your computer, or green bombs are falling vertically on the screen" :P

do i actually have to turn the computer-on somehow? or what am i doing wrong?

and if this is a bug which patch should I apply the USA or International? Thanks.

This means your IN and/or Science skill is too low.

Well I have an IN of 5 and a science skill of 100%...is that not enough...

First, try to Use the Science skills on the computer.

If that don't work, just pop a few mentats to up your INT, and you should be fine. I think there should be some on the base.

Fallout 2 Enclave computer bug?

Hola... Been playing FO2 since its release and as of late have reinstalled and been at it again... Unfortunatly Ive ran into a snag I have yet to figure out.

I am at the enclave base and have gone through it time and time again and everytime I go to look at main entrence hall where the final battle with Frank Horrigan takes place theres a computer terminal you should be able to login to with the presidential key later on to turn the mini gun turrets onto frank and off of you. For some reason it doesnt give me the option to login to the computer as "J.Smith" or anyone else for this matter. Im level 28 and my science is at 92% but for some damn reason I dont get this option. If anyone has run into this bug or has any insight I would be most greatful.
