Q's about some items I've been lugging around... (bit long)

Well first you see I'm kind of a pack rat in any RPG, If I see an item that looks cool or important I keep it and let it take away my from my carrying limite. :P

Okay now, I just have a few questions on some items I have. Please if you may (or can) tell me what the heck I do with these things or what ever help you can give would be great. (By the way cool forum, I realy like it, good job. :) )

1) What do I do with the red, green and blue memory module's??

2) Dimond necklace, what's this for???

3) Magic eight ball??? (I've read all that it says, and some of it is quite funny.)

(Sorry a bit off topic.)

4) And is there any reason, why the Vualy City vualt has about 2 million water chips.??? :P

Thanx for any help.

(This isn't the last you've seen of me, for I'll be back, since I haven't even been to san fran yet. But I've been every where esle... lol :) )

1. Keep 'em. You might find a use for them in San Fran.

2. Nothing. Just estatic value. It fetches a nice price on the market.

3. Aside from all that you can read of it, nothing. Just barter it away.

4. Well, if memory serves. Every vault would have 2 GECK's and 2 waterchips. Only one GECK was delivered to VC's vault but they got a surplus of waterchips intended for another vault (and guess wich one that is). Maybe they got the rest from more 'intended' screwups (you'll know what i mean if you progress a bit further in the game). You can read all this in the VC vault central computer.

[font size=1" color="#FF0000]LAST EDITED ON Jul-03-02 AT 01:02PM (GMT)[p]1) Use them in a computer to raise stats.

2) Nothing

3) If you have 9+ luck it can trigger some weird secrets (and very low luck, don't recall how low, it'll insult you), otherwise it's useless.

4) Yes, it's a shipping mistake. It was intended for another vault. To understand, go play Fallout (the original).

It wasn't a shipping mistake. It's a Government experiment and Vault 8 is the "control" vault. There's more info about the Vault experiment, and a lot more background info about the Fallout universe, in the Fallout Bible.

Just to let ya know, I've played Fallout 1 (Loved it) for te last year and a half, and I started Fallout 2 in September. I'm almost done(First time through), just have to go to the Serria Army Base for the wright family. And then I'm off to San Fran.

Another question though:

Is it possible to take screen shots in this game. (e.g With the print screen button on your keyboard.)

And another: (sorry)

I've taken out the bishop family, because winson asked me to. (Plus I didn't like how this family treated me.) And I've Destroyed the Stables drug lab, and the family associated with it. (sorry can't remember names.)

And as always More to come.

Didn't the President say something about the events in Vault 13 being unforeseen, although in the end it all fit in the Enclave's plans?

Yes, the screenshot files will be in your fallout folder.

Yes, vault 13 was the control group and not vault 8.

RE: taking screenshots...

Hi, Ken,

Yes, it's possible to take screen shots, but you do it by pressing the F12 key (IIRC). That's really intuitive, isn't it? :) However, remember, pressing F1 in the game gives you a screen showing the keyboard shortcuts and a few other bits & pieces about the game.

Anyway, the screenies, as the other poster mentioned, show up in your Fallout2 directory, as bitmap files (*.bmp), which means you might want to convert them to .jpg format if posting them to the web or something (all of mine, interestingly enough, are 302 Kbytes).

Hope this helps.

Dako-ta
