Question about the Bozar (or, "Didja ever notice...")

Just watched the movie "Navy Seals" again this morning, and I noticed something. The sniper rifle used by "God" (Bill Paxton) in the movie looked a lot like the Bozar machine gun. So I did some snooping, and found that the rifle in that movie is actually a Barrett M82A1 rifle, which is a semi-automatic and shoots .50 caliber rounds.

The rifle can be seen here... take a screenshot of your Bozar and compare it: http://www.specialoperations.com/Weapons/Light_Fifty/default2.html

Now here's the wierd part. This rifle in FO2 fires only in burst mode, with the burst animation and sound. However... the M60 machine gun, which is SUPPOSED to fire a burst, only has the animation and sound for a single shot (though it fires multiple bullets and has the same burst arc).

My theory is that the designers got their signals crossed on these two weapons. The M60 should have the burst sound and animation, while the Bozar should have only the single shot sound and animation.

However, since they named it the Bozar instead of the M82A1, I suppose they can set it up however they like. Just making an observation. :)

RE: Question about the Bozar (or, "Didja ever notice...")

I think the designers didnt want to get mixed up with licensing for brand name guns. They do occasionally say "H&K" but I don't think the ever mention "Heckler and Koch" (although I could be wrong, just dont remember off the top of my head). They also called the the smg the " H&K P90c" when in reality P90's are made by the Belgian company FN and there is no "c" model. As I recall the Desert Eagle has something about being an American gun in it's description, but it is an Israeli weapon (IMI) and is only manufactured in the U.S.

In the discription of the H&K G11, the name Hackler and Koch. And you have an FN FAL. Why they did the rest as they did, i don't know.

They probably did the HK g11 because the gun never got into mass production. They had it all the way to testing the prototypes in field tests, ect when the German govt cut the funding for it. The G11 got scrapped at that point. Sad thing too, b/c the gun had the revolutionary feature of caseless ammo.

Speaking of caseless ammo... just what is caseless ammo, anyway? Just a bullet with some explosive stuff glued to it at the bottom?
