[FO2] Redding

i just strolled into redding today and had a chat with the 'painless dock' who thanked me for the cure to Jet. however, i delivered no antidote or anything. i have not yet been to Vault City, and i've never even set eyes on New Reno. is this a bug?

WIERD. howdja walk into Redding anyway. u r suposed to go to VAULT CITY. and on the way stop by Modoc(shitload of exp. points)

I can help, uninstall your game, reinstall it and download the newest patch. That should eliminate all possible bugs. If you do not fix it; your system will crash near the end of the game!!

If I was sposed to complete the game in a specific order then Id be so screwed, I do quests depending on my mood.

you don`t need to uninstall, just go to the files section here at nma and download the patch and the saves converter tool

You're not supposed to complete the game in any order, that's one thing that's great about Fallout...
But of course there's quests that require you to visit certain cities before/after...etc..

You can actually get redding on your map by talking to someone in klamath, I think the young ms. buckner. so you could go strait there not even hitting the den and not finding out about vault city by rescuing Vic.

actually, the only places i know of on the map that you need people to give the location of are Vault 13, SAD and the Toxic Caves. all the cities can be found by wandering the map, like i do at the start of the game. go lookin for encounters with 2 sides, dont get involved with either, and at the end, loot the bodies and gain the exp.

You dont really need to complete the game in any specific order.
For example: My first time through the game (no walkthrough or anything - wasn't it great) I did not know where Vault City was, and stumbled upon Redding in my travels, from there I went to New Reno, then to Vault City, From there I probably went to Modoc...
This is by no means the orthodox method of going through the game, but it worked for me. That is the great part...

I was talking from a point of view that if you didn't just go to cities that you knew about from your previous playing. So you could start at arroyo, go to klamath, find out about redding there, go to redding, and you can find out about sf in redding, so go to sf :) having never gone to vault city, reno, broken hills, gecko, modoc, or ncr. I was just trying to say I guess that's it's definately possible to be in character going to redding without having gone anywhere besides klamath.
