regarding endings New Reno, VC, Reddings

Last I checked it seemed there was some uncertainty regarding endings of the game.

Does anyone know about these endings?

Vault City- If you deliver Bishops disks and optimize the Gecko plant but kill Westin and Lynnette, do you still get VC's best ending? If not what is the alternative? On Per's walkthough it indicates that both Westin and Lynette have to surive, if not than it seems the second ending is that VC gets annexed by NCR.

In Redding- if you deliver the excavator chip the miners that have NCR sympathies, but then kill off Lynette and Westin (above) does Redding still go to VC? What if you manage to destroy the manufacture of Jet?

In New Reno- if you kill off Salvatore, Mordino and Bishop, destroy the stills and still open up Sierra Army Depot (and become made man for Wrights) do you still get the neutral ending where Wrights take over violently. But then does it really matter because, well, you did kill off everyone else already?

In VC's best ending both Lynette and Westin are mentioned by name, hence I assume they have to live. Since VC is considered a borderline evil place anyway, the "nice" NCR annexation could very well be considered the best ending from a "good" perspective.

Yes, if you complete the cure for Jet thing. They seem to be independent. You can get the ending where VC is abandoned due to radiation, for instance, and still get the ending where Redding goes to VC - it could easily be explained by different time frames.

I'm not sure you can do that. Kill off Mordino and everyone at the stables, sure, but will the game take that into account? I don't know, but I doubt it. If you mean developing the cure then it will always trigger the "Redding goes to VC" ending (and takes precedence over the chip).

Yes, unless you get the "tribal" ending which also seems to be possible in this case depending on some hidden factor (and I think someone on the board claimed they got the "peaceful" Wright ending despite opening the depot).

I think it works that way for every other family (e.g. the Salvatores and "Ash Friday"). Maybe there are always remnants and secondary HQ:s for each family. These families can't just be the few dozen hooligans we see on the game maps. :)

On the topic of endings, I looked through the game files and found the following (non-implemented?) endings that I would like to hear if anyone ever got or tried to get:

* A "Modoc fades away" ending. I suppose you'd get it by doing nothing in Modoc. All three endings for Modoc in white's FAQ seem to demand that you start the Slag quest, so it'd be logical if there was at least one where you didn't.

* A "Vault City razed" ending. My guess would be you kill everyone in VC.

* A "Mordino loses power due to cure for Jet" ending for New Reno. My guess would be leaving Big Jesus alive but finishing the create antidote quest.

* A "Wrights attack Mordinos but are defeated" ending for NR. My guess would be you finger Little Jesus for the Wright murder and do not kill Big Jesus.

* A good ending for VC and Gecko where they enter a fruitful partnership and VC becomes less xenophobic. I suppose if this was implemented someone would have got it by now.

* An ending where VC loses patience with radiation and invades Gecko (as opposed to taking over the fixed and optimized plant). My guess would be that you do nothing about the reactor and maybe nothing else in VC, either.

If no one knows if these endings are possible then I suppose I'll try to get them myself, but any past experiences or "everyone already tried that, dummy" would be appreciated.

Mmm..maybe killing Lynette only. So the second in command McClure takes over.

Dear Tandier-

I have my doubts that McClure is better. Remember most of the dealings with Gecko get done through McClure and he is the one that you give the economic info too.

After learning about Gecko's demise from this bulletin board and the Endings FAQ (forget what web site that is at), I went back and snuffed out both McClure and Lynette. If I could get the info back or remove the optimization at Gecko I would do it. I will get back to you when I finish this thing and tell you if whacking both McClure and Lynnette did the trick.

PS- like your "name." I always thought Tandi was a bit more randy then she appears in Fallout 1. I hear she give a "No... I like boys" response if you are a female and proposition her in Fallout 1.

Cool that you understand my name, yes it's supposed to mean "Tandy-er":). I will now also leave some Vault quests undone, to experiment later with the endings. Per gave some endings he extracted from the .dat file, let's see if we can get some of them... I never played adventures except the Fallouts, I think because of all those different things you can try and endings that are possible.
