Sierra Army Depot brainbot

How do you use the organ extractor on the bottom level? I am trying to extract Myron's brain (because I find him so irritating) but it always says "Subject is not in the extraction room" or something like that.

you can't tell him to wait there. He still actually has to be part of your group.
