FO2 slaver encounter with arrows

I looked in all the walkthroughs I know of and I can't find anything about this special encounter. There are 3 arrows from the S E and W pointing toward the center and then one pointing from the center north toward an empty pot flanked by two lumps of biological goo. Does this encounter do anything or is it unfinished?

That's a normal (if rare) random encounter map. Looks like something is seriously wrong with your video, though – might be caused by the hi-res patch.

that's just how the screenshot turned out it looks ok in game. so the arrows on the ground don't do anything?
