Slaver stuff

Hi,

I wondered if there's any way to take slaves without going on a run, rather than selling say, your wife or something. Like your accomplices do with those stick things. Is it a special perk like kecko skinning or something? Or not at all?

Thanks.

RE: Slaver stuff

To the absolute best of my knowledge, Metzger will never teach you the "skill" your partners-in-crime have.

Side Note: You became a SLAVER?! What, do you just hang up all morals before playing the game?!

:D I like to be nice. :D

RE: Slaver stuff

P.S. No such skill is mentioned in any of the "secret perk" lists I've ever seen, so I'm pretty confident a slave run is the only way.

[font size=1" color="#FF0000]LAST EDITED ON Jan-28-01 AT 08:45PM (GMT)[p]What is being a slaver good for? You got this tatoo, for the rest of your, you don't get all the NPCs and the only advantage is that you get some money, 900 if I'm right and that's all.

RE: Slaver stuff

Being a Slaver is perhaps the worst thing you could do in the game. You will CRIPPLE yourself throughout the entire game that way. Bad idea.

RE: Slaver stuff

Not at all... just wait until you've done all the good things and got all the good NPCs, then go to Metzgar and sell them all and join up.

RE: Slaver stuff

Oooh, I hit a nerve. Being a slaver is always good for a laugh, it makes up for those damn irritating hippies in the commune you have to run around after, it’s only a shame you can’t sell their location to metzger.

You’ll be telling me next you haven’t ripped those thieving bastard children in the den in half with a bozer???

RE: Slaver stuff

it's funny to do evil things and kill people without a reason, but there are just too many disadvantages if you're a slaver.

RE: Slaver stuff

We all must have been playing fallout 2 for a long time now, it has been a while since I ever wondered about completing the game again, disadvantages be damned! When you get bounty hunters after you with the gaus riffle or whatever it's called, you get a major boost without having to prance about at the oilrig/san fran. Allowing you to wreck havoc upon whoever is unfortunate. Once you get the karma thingy perk, it doesn't really matter as anyone will talk to you, so you can sell them... heh heh. ...ahem.

RE: Slaver stuff

As everyone else said, you can't get the skill to knock out the slaves...

And why wouldn't you become a slaver? You get heaps of negative karma for it and you get like $3000 from the slave runs, as well as the exp for killing the tribals that attack you. I only see positives from being a slaver. Sure, you can't help the Wrights, but they are a good guy's characters anyway, so you don't help them.

RE: Slaver stuff

$3000 dollars and that experience is CHUMP change. :D

Seriously, you just don't get enough from slavers to make it worth the time or effort.

RE: Slaver stuff

$3000 is quite a bit at the beginning of the game. When playing evil, I found that being a slaver made the game far easier than playing good and not being one... Also you get tons of ammo and weapons from the farmer types, can steal cattle prods off the slavers with you... And annother $1000 for selling worthless companions at this point :) Not getting the sierra army base though is a big drawback, if there is any way to get in good with the wrights after being a slaver I'd like to know...

RE: Slaver stuff

Well... you could get that perk that gives you positive reactions from everybody, so it essentially disregards the plus or negative sign of your Karma.

(gets you in good with the bad guys and good with the good guys at the same time)

Anyone remember the name of the perk? Had a picture of "evil Pipboy" with an angel's halo above him.

Anyway, that would work.

I would have reason to believe, good sirs, that the perk you discuss is called Cult of Personality, and requires the full 10 Charisma, which would be rare for an evil character. And here are your drinks.

RE: DAN DAN DAN DAN IS THE MAN

It's just as rare for a good character as an evil character. And Cult of Personality doesn't seem to work for evil people. You could go before you go to the Den though, but that's going out of the way.
