Slaves at the Stables

Howdy, folks!

I'm bringing vengeance to the Mordino family. Both heads are now cut off, New Reno is wiped clean of their blood. But whenever I try to free the slaves at the Stables and slay those "Nazi doctors" in the worst way imaginable, the slaves start fighting me too???!!! What the hell...?! Why are they taking the guards' side? And why does the game treat them as hostile?

Actually it makes sense... Once you've killed everyone, you've broken their source of free Jet... And now they're angry at you!

Then why are they trying to escape?

Escape you? You're stronger.

Escape the stables? Well, there's noone lef to take care of them... might as well run away!

Escape the the Bishops? Well, they like the Jet but don't like to get beaten up every once in a while on the Bishops' whims?

OK, this is getting too far-fetched :)

No, I mean the in-game references to the slaves trying to escape the Stables. For example, if you decide to work for the Mordino (which I didn't), you are given a task to bring a suitcase to Ramirez, one of the guards at the Stables. The suitcase contains jet laced with poison, as a punishment for letting four slaves escape.

Use your imagination! Mine says something like they were so high that they just ran off :) Another possibility (more probable) is that they weren't addicted yet.

Finally, remember that there are the test slaves, and the packing slaves... It might of been the packing slaves...

RE: Slaves at the Stables

Well, what I did was I removed everyone from the party before going to the stables (so that they don't attack the slaves), went there myself, and took care of the Mordino guys singlehanded. Of course, I had to painstakingly move through the entire map in the combat mode, because the damn slaves just kept running after me and trying to hit.

However, after all was over, any subsequent return to the stables resulted in very peaceful slaves. Maybe they first just didn't realize I was there to save them, and mistook it as a general attempt on everyone's life at the stables? :)
