Some questions

Tying up a few loose ends for the guide update.

1. Goris and his claw vs. the NCR cops. This is another one of those pre-patch things that I've read about (in more than 1 place, I'm pretty sure) but not experienced myself. I noted that the cop scripts are not updated in the patch, and anyway, they shouldn't react to Goris because their script simply doesn't check to see if he's there. (Similarly you should be able to send in an armed Brain Bot in NCR as long as it's got the human brain, not the cybernetic one.) Also there doesn't seem to be any difference in the Goris scripts when you tell him to put his weapon away. Does anyone have experience with pre-patch Goris problems in NCR? Or could this be an incorrect assumption that someone made when they were being attacked by NCR cops for a different reason?

2. Using an Iguana-on-a-stick on Dogmeat in the Cafe. I looked at his script and it turns out he's rigged to join you if you do this, but my game crashes every time I do it. Is this the same for everyone else? (An interesting thing is that using an Iguana on Trent the caravan guard in Fo1 crashed my game too - is there something dangerous about these Iguanas?)

3. Another piece of info from Igor Lowicki's walkthrough: he says you could steal from the sub-amenities shops in Vault City before the patch because their inventories were being kept in onscreen containers. Can anyone confirm this?

4. OK, this is for advanced users. As you may know there's a bug in Navarro and the Enclave where you can bring 1 NPC along without anyone reacting because of a script bug. The scripts think they have to deduct 1 from the total NPC count because of the car (which is an NPC, sort of), but the car *isn't* included in that count, so they arrive at a number 1 too low. The funny thing is that before the patch, NPC scripts did exactly the same thing, when deciding if you could add another NPC to your party. Now there are 2 possibilities here. Either the NPC count variable worked differently before the patch, so that the car *was* included in it (in this case the Navarro/Enclave bug would not have existed before the patch). Or else it worked the same, in which case it would have the interesting consequence that if you had the car, you would have been able to recruit 1 more NPC than you were really entitled to based on your CH. Does anyone have any idea about this?

RE: Some questions

Let's see. I can give you some info on 1 and 3.

1. In my games, if i don't tell Goris to 'make sure you don't show a weapon', the cops attack or will tell me to put all my weapons away. I have patched so i'm not real sure as to this being the same in the pre-patched version.

3. I think that's wrong. Even after nightfall and nobody is there, i always got cought and i got a text displayed (even if nobody is there) that tells me to not steal. I have also tried it using sneak but the same thing occurs. I'm not sure if you can do it with a very high sneak skill. To be more precise, it seems that their inventory is indeed in an onscreen container (one of the tables) but it's very hard to steal from them.
