Somthing wrong whit vault city

ok when i go into the main gate and open the door i try to walk in and it says can not get there what does this mean is my cd fucked up or what

You need to wait untill the door has fully slided down, otherwise you can't get into VC proper. If this is the case, then i have no idea. Oh, and make sure nobody is blocking your way either.
