[FO2] Those dang holodisks

Someone explained it to me, but it doesn't work...

I was told by one fella to "use the holodisks like a book," meaning to ready it and then click on the thing. The info in the holodisk is then supposed to appear in the "status" screen of the PIPBoy.

But a book, when readied, will have "Use" in the upper right hand corner of the active item display, whereas the holodisks have "Use on..." in the corner and present me with crosshairs when I click on them. I don't know how else to ready/use the darn things, but I've got about 8 which I'd like to read. Am I missing a new patch or something?

Use it from inside your inventory. Click on it with the hand cursor and in the text window in the lower left side of your screen something like "downloading to pip boy", or somesuch should appear. Go to your pip boy and click on status. In the right of that screen you should see a new listing of topics. These are the topics you downloaded from the various holodisks.
