FO2: Unfair combat turn problem!

SuperConductor

First time out of the vault
Whenever I start combat and end the first round, I seem to skip the second round completely! That is the NPCs get to move twice before I get to move the second time... It hasn't been like that all the time, I don't remember at which stage that started happening...

Anyone know what that's about?!?!

thx

sequence baby... it's all about sequence ;)

you always get the first shot when YOU start combat.

but after the first round is over, critters with the highest sequence will go before you... happens to me all the time. I think it was designed to act that way.

Unfair, perhaps, but that's the way it works.

In this case your enemies have higher Sequence than you. After you act first, they get their 1st turn action, then they go first in the 2nd round.

Hmph... I got PE 8 etc. in Psycho and sequence 16 and it happens always... could be because enemies are quite tough... I'm in Navarro base, killing everyone...

but thanks for the quick reply!

Basically it's like this:

When you initiate combat, you start the first round, no matter what your normal sequence value is.
The second round goes by the normal sequence again.

Thus, if you have the best sequence of all critters involved, you start EVERY round. Otherwise, you only start the first round.

That means the attacker gets the benefit (element of surprise I guess) in that they start first in the first round, no matter what their sequence is. That benefit disappears after the first round.

So in reality, the attacker is the one with the unfair benefit, not the other guys.

Stop whining.

If you are having problems dealing with alot of enemies at once, just shoot em in the eyes! A blow to the head=knockout, a blow to the eyes=blind, a blow to the arm and they are using 2 handed wep..well no more 2 handed wep for them, and a blow to the groin=death for super mutants

Yeah that happens to me in Navarro often... that is, when I decide to do a killing spree there

Everytime you kill a tribal a game developer dies.

As long as they are from EA... I can sleep at night ;)

Only if you get a critical that does that effect. But, a successful called shot to those places increases the likelyhood of that happening.
