Vault City Slaves
Has anyone been able to talk Linette into freeing the slaves or is it impossible.

You don't talk to Lynette about the slaves. You go into the garage just north of Dusty's cantina. Don't bother the mutant, he just tell you to get lost. I didn't see her at first or second, but to the left side of the room is a NCR guard. (a woman in combat armour) Talk to her, she'll give you the task of freeing the slaves for her.
When i took this task, i thought she meant the slaves in the den. So i wasted all of metzer's gang
That was fun. I goofed up and had to do it all over again tho. (i forgot to save and did something stupid)
I came back to NCR, and corrected my error, and wasted all the slavers there. But i was unable to free the slaves.

I FIGURED IT OUT!!!!
1) Talk to ranger elise in Garage diagonal from Dusty's Cantina
2) Go to slavers outside of NCR in the bazaar
3) Pop caps in each one of their asses
4) Go inside the compound and use LOCKPICK (or press 2) on the computer consoles at the end of each cage unit
4a) Keep doing lockpick until they open.
4b) Free all the slaves
5) Go back to elise and talk to her, she'll make you a ranger, and give you 3000xp + a ranger badge... wear it with pride hehehe

Forget that, get the quest from the slavers to kill the rangers and take their base map back to the slavers so they can kick some ass.

well..am i stupid, or are you all talking about the NCR slaves..
i think, the question was about lynette and the Vault City Slaves.
As far as I know, you are put into combat mode, if you talk to Lynette about the slaves and try to tell her, that this is slavery and that she should free everybody, but feel free to try it for your self
but i usually like killing those bigots in Vault City
