Weapons Galore

Right, I could do with finding some cool weapons... but everytime ive Played the game i can never find them....

First off the M60 machinegun... tried New REno arms after becoming a Salvatore and its never there, only the Bozar...

The other is the Mega Powerfist...

Merry Christmas aswell, and thanks for listenin to me rabble on with questions hehe

The 2 shops in San Fran have those 2 items.....but it can be weird.....sometimes i load and the gun shop has plenty of 2mm for the gauss and other times it doesn't.....same goes for weapons.....so try reloading if it's not there and also try the NCR guys....they sometimes have good stuff.

you can also get mega power fist by giving normal power fist (which isn't so hard to find after all) to the *boom* guy in the New Reno Arms basement - just make sure you come up from there in the daytime so Eldrige doesn't go mad with you.

Sometimes I could buy M60 from him, as a Bishop made man I think.

ya.. you gotta be a bishop made man to purchase the M60, im pretty sure.

Well, I am pretty sure that the selection in the Special stash in NRA is 1)random 2)changes with time, so as long as you are a made man, it does not matter who you are a made man for.

Dimon's guess would be mine as well. The way the game handles shop inventories makes it unlikely (though not impossible) that there would be separate "special stocks" for the various families. Often a "hi level" item doesn't appear in a shop until a certain while has passed or you've reached a certain level (for instance, how often does Buster in NCR have the Avenger Minigun when you first come there? The correct answer is never).

This could be due to many things. There are some(like me for example) suspected that it may have something to do with your luck rating. The higher your luck is, the better stuff there are. It's the case with looting those you killed, therefore it should be the same in shops.

A bug. If you decide to watch the security video on Frank killing the doorman at Brotherhood of Steel in SF, it may or may not trigger a bug that stops the SF shops from restocking, or getting new stuff.

Thirdly, a better way to get this gun or any other rare and expansive hardware is to work for the brahmn drives in NCR. If you happen to bump into the rangers duking it out with remaints of master's army, then you have hit the jackpot. I got 2 M60s, 5 jackhammers, 3 CAWs, 2 P90s, 2 laser rifles, 2 powered fists, 1 super sledge, and other mis. from just one of these fights. I had some much hardware I had to ditch some of my own junk just ot carry it. But, be careful though, because the game has some major bug problem with caravan runs, you may lose your caravan parties.(meaning, you leave, but they won't come with you) And, the game will think you've deserted the caravan, your reputation will take a nose dive, so a lot of merchants on the road won't trade with you.

beat me to it starseeker. Doing caravan runs ANYWHERE, even in redding which i think is the first place you can do one, will yield good items if you encounter moonshiners, raiders, highwaymen, all those sorts of people. I got a super sledge for sulik, a pancor for cassidy, a .223 FMJ Pistol for myself, (which ive outgrown by now but which is a weapon i like to use before i get a sniper rifle or something) an avenger minigun (off a caravan guard in an encounter: a caravan fighting off some highwaymen" when i killed him :P) for marcus.. This was all in one trip that i can remember. Caravan trips are good for exp and items, i suggest doing them.

Hey hey hey! wait a sec! Are you telling me you guys let Eldrige live??? Anyway, I always kill him, and he always has two big guns. ANY two big guns, exept the Vindcor Minigun. He even has the Bozar!

i just found a M60 today, actually.. Actually i got two of em :). Found some claim jumpers as a random encounter and 2 of em had them.
