[FO2] Where are the kiddies hiding?

Where are the kiddies hiding?

Hi All,
I have just started Fallout 2, so I am rather being the rest of you. I can't find two kids that I need for quests.

First up, I know Jonnie is supposed to be north of the Slag caves. Is this beside the water pump? If so, there is no one there. I have tried going in before midnight and waiting, going in just after midnight, going in before delivering the message to Modoc, going in after and I just can't find Jonnie. There are Slags in the caves, but never anyone near the water pump. Am I missing something?

The next kid is the one you have to talk to to give him the Nixon doll and get the wrench. Before I rescued the 'Servant' chap, I could see various 'Sniff' type messages near the tent, but there was no one there! It was like the kid was invisible! Now that I have rescued the Servant, they have all left and there are no more messages at all. I can see the rocks that I guess the wrench is under, but without giving the doll to the kid, I can't get the wrench. Is there another wrench I can get?

If you´re playing the UK version, there will be no kiddies in the game (because of violence laws), there is a patch available to put them back however.

Wrenches

You can get wrenches in Redding, New Reno and San Fran. A caravan (with ghouls) between VC and Broken hills also has them.

So how am I supposed to complete the quests involving short people? Oh, well.

Do you know where I can get the patch?

You can get a patch on this site at the Files section. And by the way, there were thousands of people on this forum who didn't had children in their Fallout game(I'm 1 of them) so you also could have search this forum a bit before you posted it. But anyway, if you have any trouble with the patch, just do as I do; play WITHOUT patch. You don't really need children to finish the game.

I remember digging up some in vault city, and I think it was a wrench, I could be wrong but if I'm right you need a real good perception, the wrench I think is under a pile of rocks.
