Where'd the car go?

Hi All!

I have version 1.02 of Fallout 2 (I just bought it in the dual-jewel case with Fallout 1). When I drove to Modoc I lost the car. Now I read here that it's somewhere and the patch usually fixes this. Don't I have the latest version already? Does anyone know how to fix this? If not, I'm not patching and starting over again. Thanks!

Did you did the find Johnny quests? If you drove your car to the Ghost Farm and asked asked to bring Johnny back to his folks, the Slags will escort you back to Modoc without your car. It should still be at the Ghost Farm.

Happened to me once, too (in 1.02). Sorry, I think it's lost. Don't you have any archived save at all?

Do you arrive on the modoc town map and the car is missing, or does it vanish on the world map?
If the first one, its a bug. If the second, then the car has run out of power but since you're too close to a town, the green 'Car Outta Power' message doesnt show up, but its still where you stopped, just refuel it before moving on again. If this happens on the town circle though, I think you're screwed.
