I have no clue......i tried that twice before and got nothing but poisoned.... using the Gauss and or Bozar seem to do the best damage on floaters.....Plasma isn't that much better than Pulse either.....they both kinda blow chunks....i guess they are energy resistant somehow.

Laser works well against them. Pulse weapons deal electrical damage, which isn't listed in armor, like EMP.
