I was thinking that food and drink should take a much more important role, you should hunt to kill and then eat if not you get hungry and move slower or something, or your less active in combat etc. There should be many animals to hunt and some should have poisoness blood or something like that. You get my drift.

So what do ya' think people???

Hunt and everything would maybe take too much time... But, yes, in FO1&2, outdoors man skill wasnt really used i believe...
Good idea poisoned animals and all that

To make it work it would have to be done in months or weeks, otherwise it would just be annoying every time you went on a long trip across the map.
If it was an automatic function it would be alright, but anything else would be too time consuming, I'm sure the programmers could spend their time creating something slightly more interesting.

[font size=1" color="#FF0000]LAST EDITED ON Feb-04-01 AT 12:44PM (GMT)[p]U could have an buttton for hunting so each time u run out of food u must have to stopp and hunt.
Then u push the hunting button and u see an screen come upp and u would see some animals appear (like a slaughtered gecko and some dead rats) after you get some of them.
Then when u walk u would eat automaticly them and would see how much food u have left on a line like when u see how gas u have in F2.
And if your outdoorsman skills were wery good u would get alot of food in a short time but if u were bad it would take longer.
then the outdoorsman skill actually could be something important.
I think it is a great idea.

It could be like in FO1 when you have to find water or loose HPs. If you have a high outdoorsman skill it would work automatically, if you have a low OD skill you would end up in a random encounter screen and the message window says something like: "You are hungry and must hunt. It took five hours." And when you enter a new town maybe you are hungry and must eat or loose some penalty on all your skills. If they use this you finally have a use for all non-human NPCs like Dogmrat and K9. :-)

Archon had an idea that you could have a bar, down the side of how hungry you are, what do you lot think of that then???

Too micro-managing, really.

I think that *some* is okay, like with the water of the first (though it put an importance on the scarcity of good drinking water), but an actual meter would be a bit much.

i think food and drink is a cool idea. you should have to hunt for food and intstead of keeping food and drink in your inv, you should just have it on the side, like HPS. when your running low, its time to go hunt or scavange.

Or you could steal a brahmin and you cut one or two piece of meat :)
