FOT Crashes

Hello!

I received my copy of FOT recently.

Its a great game (although not as good as FO1 and 2!).
But it is very bad, that there is not ONE mission I can complete without crashing (Out of Memory error)

What can be done about thìs?
It says on the cover, that you need 64 MB of memory.
Can it be, that 128MB are NOT enough for FOT ?

Another thing: in some Encounter spots the exit grids wont work....
Also after revisiting Quincy it simply freezes (computer turn forever...)

Searching for tips....

I got plently of HD and MEM 2k ddr so what do i do ?

i can play online fine and have 1.27 patch
but when i get on the single player missions first time on this new PC i had win 98 before now amd atholon so i get to the first boss and my comp grinds and then it crashed over by the doors and the skulls totems.

i hope you have something better to say then shoot my shotgun at my comp i tryed that a few times and it crashed each time so what now
 
There's supposed to be some unpacker thing that unpacks files..or something... yeah.. that's supposed to speed it up I guess.

And you might want to check to see how much virtual memory you have set.
 
Ya i talked to the guys on Gspy and used winzip but still has anyone had a problem with winzip not being able to unzip the bos tiles it won't do that and crashed my comp. i got plaenty of mem thanks. what really bugs mne is i can boot up online and jump into other ppls games and i think maybe i have had no prob because theres might already be unpaked ya i don't creat my own games cannot because i have a router prob you got any idears around that or should i make a new post topic so maybe that does no would read it sometime.
 
When using winzip don't highlight anything, just go ahead and extract without highlighting the files. You may want to shut down anything running in the background while running the game. It is a system hog so there may be something conflicting. Do a defrag, try to clean up your system as good as possible, hell backup up, then reformat the drive, and reinstall everything. You should do that every once in awhile, maybe even once a year.
 
I got a nice system lots of HD and it get defrag every 2 weeks on my wrestling night i let it run through.

But when i use the zip it runs for like a few mins then it freezes the screen is it too much for winzip to handle or something like that. Like i haven't used gozilla stuff and theres another zip program but would something do better then winzip ? i don't think its got anything to do with space maybe its a program thing and it can't handle it. Well i'll just give up for now be back another day. thanks
 
Like I said if you don't click on any of the files within the zip archive and just hit the Extract button it won't freeze up. Try it.
 
Umm hold on you have to use CONT-A to use the zip ? so what i was not clicking on any files hmm i don't no i'll play with it and see if anything works.

I'm not sure what you mean by "CONT-A"? It is very simple:

1. Start Winzip.
2. Open bos file within winzip.
3. Hit Extract button on toolbar at the top.
4. Voila!
 
Thanks but the guys online helped out with this one.

Anyways they told me to use the boostie and it solved it. So i should thank you but have no idear why :?:

But don't get me wrong i do thank you :) for trying at least you answered my becon call. Oh and the boostie doesn't work over here so you need to fix it. And i was also told that not much mods work over here is that true well i haven't tryed them all so but it was not talked about very highly online tactics game so i figured i would at least post about it so someone who knows what there doing can look into this and see if there is any truth in the matter.
