My men are making their way through Mission 2, only this isn't a normal run. They've lost count of how many runs they've (attempted to have) made through Mission 2 of the full version of Fo:T BOS. They silently make their way up to the base, slitting the necks of those who get more than a millisecond of knowledge of their presence... they make it up a flight of stairs, when, suddenly, to their surprise, gunfire sounds and they are caught in the middle of a firefight. Bullets raging everywhere, the squad barely manages to fend off the raider attack on their small, makeshift bunker, but ends up taking very small losses. Fearing for less luck in the future, their commander decides to save his game. Opening the options menu and clicking "Save Game" he is prompted with a horrid message to this effect:
BOS has performed an illegal operation. The program will now quit.
Death is quick in the wasteland. Death is also quick and large in number when a few people who paid good money have to sit around and wait for an unemployed staff to up and spend time making a patch out of the goodness of their hearts... or, sit around and wait for the uninspired, pay-cutted MicroForte team to spend a couple months working on patching code that some guy on the other side of the office worked on and they'd never even heard of.
I am, of course, speaking about the god-damned FRICKIN' overabundance of stupid crashes in Fo:T. Some say it's a RAM error, I say that's bullshit. I've heard people with 256 MB telling stories of crashes at only mission 3... but yes, RAM does seem to play a factor in WHEN, EXACTLY these crashes come... more RAM, later the missions... some people don't even HAVE the problem. It's drivin' me up the frickin' wall so let's hear some group complaints about the anal bug!!
