Hello everyone, I'm new to this forum so please don't flame me too quickly (better label me a terrorist and send the US military if you really hate newbies).
Here is a suggestion for FO3, more precisely a suggestion/idea concerning fractions in the game. As exposed in a previous topic, (evil) the line between good and evil is pretty often clear for an individual but blurry when you try to discuss it and maintain your point of view with some good arguments ( BTW someone who wrote a lot about the "blurriness" and the relativity between good and evil is an philosopher called Imannuel Kant ).
The point is to let the player choose to which fraction he would belong to in the game, not directly in the character creation section like in Baldur's Gate when you clearly labeled your character good, neutral, or evil, but in the game itself, like it was partially in FO2 when you could become a slaver or an NCR ranger, a Vault city citizen... but unfortunately the slaver option only had a repercussion later in the game, in NCR (when you could be gutted alive by the NCR rangers) but was very segondary, concerning the overall plot.
Anyways my idea is to transfer to a larger scale the New Reno scenario, in which you became the "made-man" of four families, but lacked the clear distiction between them in which comes to ethics, moral codes, definitions of good and bad, blabla. Besides you only felt the consequences in New Reno itself, not in the whole game
The Scenario is the following: the people who survived the war (putting ASIDE the BOS, and anything else which could interfere with the initial scenario of the game) divide themselves into several communities following what they believe (the brutish thugs base their society on pure strength, violence to eventually become raiders/slavers, the pacifists form something like a postapocaliptic hippy commune, racist right wing freaks form their city, communists their own, anarchists etc...) Don't get me wrong, I don't mean cities in which every and single citizen thinks the way as the other, just the "ideals", laws of the city are set and citizens should stick to them to a certain point, willingly or not. Something like Greek Cities in the hellenic Civilization (remember Sparta and Athens having 2 different Politics and society models)....
Ok, that's about it. Sorry for not structuring it more throughly but, hey, I'm no scenario writer
