FrameAnimator 2.7 released

Sonny, I Watched the Vault Bein' Built!
It looks like Jochua has released a new version of FrameAnimator. I'm not sure what the differences are in this version, but I'll upload it to NMA.

You can download it here though. I've made upa quick tutorial from Jochua's posts on our forums that you will find very usefull formaking critters.

Or from Jochua's website. The file above also includes a tutorial on how to make a critter, so I'd recomend downloading that file.

I've checked tutorial on Jochua's site. Here's my opinion about it:
a2 - angle of a light source for a shadow (-75.7)
It means nothing. You must know distance to the model - size of the light depends from it. Light isn't placed exactly on one axis - is placed between two. Besides for animation which are moving "forward" light must "walk" after the model.

Little tip for the light which gives the shadow:
- go to Intensity/Color/Atteuation and replace white color with black,
- go to Shadow Parameters and change color from black to white (FO2's shadows aren't black, so instead of white color play around grey and you will get different color of shadow on the ground) and Dens. from 1,0 to -1,0.
Now, light gives only shadow on the ground, nothing more. Any other parameters from it are disabled - they're not visible on the model. Only other light (or lights) have affect on it.

About Plane (ground): go to Material Editor and change from Standard to Matte/Shadow. Now, plane isn't visible to the render (except shadows which are recived from the model).

I'm working around it, so another updates to it will be added soon ;)

Sounds good mate :)

Yea the shadow is actaully quite importent for the critters. The FRMs are located from the bottom of the image which is always the shadow, this is really importent for flying critters such as the hoover bot (and the FOT wasp model).

A weird thing about the shadows in FO2 is that the flame from the flame thrower castes a shadow ;)

Yeah, it's interesting - shadow casted by flames have different colors than shadows from character and the weapon

question is: do we have source code of this tool? or can get hands on it?

It would be desirable to see in Frame Animator - possibility to move Background. It will give the chance to start once mapper. To make screenshot. To establish it as background. And easy to change displacement (x,y), without restart mapper.
I am sorry for my bad english.

Would it be worth it to have some kind of auto-snapping mechanism when positioning images? Or is this already in frame animator?

Joining of walls (or similar) is the longest. Auto - snapping it is too difficult. It is a question of simple function - move background. For a reference point. Background - it's screenshot from mapper.
