Right, at the beggining of the game, after the Pip Boy animation, after the deep-voiced guy the game's character create screen is shown along with three pre-made characters.
The character creaton screen looks like the normal character creation screen but what's this???? A new tag? You click on it a list of possible "forces" are displayed. Tribal, Slaver Ranger, Ranger, Enclave Patrol, Brotherhood etc. Tag the selected tag will enable a different beggining for your character. The ending would end with an almighty enemy but the beggining would be different for example; you're a Slaver Ranger... on a patrol you come across some Slavers blah blah blah, disaster strikes, it's up to you to save the day, after you save the day evil shows it's ugly head and it's up to you to stop it. You're the Enclave... after many happless hours shooting tribals disaster strikes... again you save the day but then you have to stop the next most evil thing to a deluded president and some half melted guy for a lap-top computer for a head (the Master, if you didn't already know?).
Sorry that this post doesn't make any sense but it's just an idea.

RE: Freedom to create your own storyline. (Hmm what a nice i

Something could be done with the idea but the way you start the story line sounds boring. It's a thing that i've considered but with a lot more detail and thought

I hear people are getting pissed at a lot of posts because there stupid. Frankly i don't really care though.

It's only cheating if you get caught

That's a fine idea, but...

I believe it would be difficult for BIS to write all these stories. Most propably they would end up as a pile of poor quality scenarios...It would be better to stick to one good story. But they could try another thing: In the main menu, there would be an option called "scenario".A player would choose to play a small story, like being in a raider patrol, an enclave attack force, or even serve the master's army as a mutant.
