Fun Fact: Fallout Tactics Is The Most Influential Game In The Series!

TheKingofVault14

Fallout Fan For Life!
Out of all the game's in the Fallout series,(specifically from the Interplay era)
Fallout Tactics is the most influential one for every entry that followed after it. With either concepts reused, or ideas revisited and revitalized, there's no denying that this game continues to inspire each new Fallout installment that's ever released.

Now, originally I was going to show you all a list of the things that later Fallout games took inspiration from Fallout Tactics, but instead I'm going to link this video that TriangleCity recently posted on his channel:
(He beat me to the punch!) :???: ;)

What you'll see in this video is him not only covering the influence of what Fallout Tactics has on the later entries,(especially the Bethesda's Fallouts) but also the various references made about Tactics that's found in said later entries. Basically they confirm it's canon status,

So yeah that's pretty much it, enjoy.

He's doing God's work, and Fallout Tactics JUSTICE!!!

 :-) :ok:

I have been saying this for years. There are tons of Tactics influences in the Beth entries. Great post.

Could probably post it as news for fun if you want.

Not really. If more people supported the game back then we might not be where we are now with the series being for little kids that like to teabag and loot to death. Microprose were also not given enough time to finish the game properly AS USUAL so blame Interplay AS USUAL. Fuck Interplay TLDR.

Sure, the tone was a little off but not that much compared to Fallout 2 which is probably just as retarded if not more.

I don’t disagree with anything you’ve said, but wouldn’t you agree that the Bethesda Fallouts were not influenced by any of the good parts of Tactics? The gameplay of Tactics clearly had no influence on Bethesda, only the idea of transplanting the Brotherhood and Super Mutants to different parts of the country.

edit: actually, I take that back. Airships were cool

Here is where I drop a SCORCHED EARTH bomb on NMA as usual:

I never minded the BoS traveling across the US and reaching the Pitt because I don't think a bunch of mutated rednecks and half dead leaderless mutants and raiders would stop them from reaching that location. I liked the blimps. I liked the Chicago/Enclave Vegas reference. I love the power armor - it is scavenged Enclave/BoS armor. I love the story to Tactics btw because none of the weird shit people cry about (Beastlords and Vault 0) bothers me at all. I like hairy deathclaws. I also want my fucking raccoon people back.

Now that we are on it, Tactics (without the bugs) has the best combat in the series and it should be noted and not shat on so much. F1 and 2 without the mods are nearly unplayable shit (due to broke quests/bugs) and I am tired of people acting like Tactics is alone in that.

Yes, because those are the only things in the wasteland, there aren't other far more dangerous things in there. Nope.

It made no sense because it's a faction that showed signs of decay and being near death in Fallout 2 by having next to no ammo and weapons and being low on personnel while having their shit wrecked in by the Enclave, somehow crosses the wasteland while having to escort civilians and literal children.

That is fucking stupid no matter the way you put it.

So yes, Bethesda taking that dumb shit from Tactics was a bad thing. Leave the BoS in the West Coast where it belongs.
