Uber nerd. What was that guy's named? Grey Beard the Wizard or something? Oh dear, when I saw that I nearly peed my pants. This kid came up to me today and said, "Dude, look what my brother got! You see this? This pin is the brooch of the society of Elves from Lord of the Rings!"
My reply was a monotone, "Nifty." Some people really think that these things are worth something. All I have to do is hire some punk kid from Taiwan to make a cheap plastic trinket and I can sell it to a bunch of uber nerd's for 20 bucks because it resembles something from Dungeons and Dragons, Lord of the Rings, or some other universe of popular culture.
The only really cool thing I ever saw for sell that I would have bought (if I had the money) was a Kilrathi suit from the Wing Commander movie. The thing was electronic and had voice alterators and all sorts of super de duper gadgets and lights. I'd get that if I had 12,000 dollars.
Why? Cause who doesn't want the kitten scourge of humanity in their living room. =)
