Game Crashes During Ocseolla Mission

First time out of the vault
Whenever I try to go in the tunnels below oscella to kill gammorin, immediately the game crashes. This is the thrid time ive played the game and have never had this happen before. Any possible solutions would be appreciated!
 
The game crashes mostly in turn based mode (in real time very rare), this mode is very bugged. Turn off permanently the turn based mode before entering to the tunnels and play to the end in real time mode.
 
owlnator is there any error message when it crashes? How far down do you get before it crashes? Halfway down the stairs, when the door opens, when combat starts etc? Does it crash if you use the other entrance?

Hmm in all these years across four different machines I've hardly ever had a crash in ITB (when not in Tough Guy mode), yet playing in CTB is guaranteed to lead to CTD. :roll:
