Game Crashes everytime I try to enter NCR

Everytime I try to enter NCR from the map screen, the game crashes!
I see the spinning Saturn icon, Then my screen goes black and I hear the Windows XP error sound.

There's an error message, but I cannot Alt+Tab to it, so I just press "enter" and the game closes.

My computer specs:
2.0GHZ AMD Althon64
Windows XP (32-bit)
1GB DDR Ram
512MB Nvidia 7800GT graphics
Creative Soundblaster Audigy2 soundcard
WD Raptor 10,000RPM hd

I've been playing Fallout 2 for a couple of days with my save, so there's alot of things I've done. This is really annoying, because I have never been into NCR and probably can't finish the game if I can't go in I suppose

You help would be greatly appreciated !

Are you using killap's patch?

Have you sold a million items to Buster?

I had the same bug
patch1.2 works or killaps patch will fix it.

I am having this exact problem (except for me it also happens when entering Frisco). I have reinstalled (including manual install) many times with no luck. Patched to official 1.02. killap's patch may or may not fix it, but I'm 3/4's of the way through without that patch, and it breaks save games, correct? So has anyone solved this without the unofficial patch?

Click here and scroll down to "Too Many Items Bug".
If that is your problem. you will find help there.

Killap's patch breaks your saves and wont prevent that bug (as of yet).
