Game Crashes

I've just purchased this game (had been looking forward to it but never had the money ^_^) but, even after installing the 1.27 patch the game crashes often, and with it, all my computer. It just freezes and the music stops, and it does not recover from the crash. I always have to reset the PC...

My system is a Pentium 3 500 MHz with 192 Mb of RAM, Windows 98 SE and a Creative Labs Savage 4 32 Mb RAM PCI Graphics card.

Does anyone know what can i do? Anybody else has this problem and was able to fix it?

What directX do you have installed ?
try this:
Try the following:

Control Panel
Sound and multimedia
Audio tab
Advanced button in the Sound Playback section
Performance tab
Turn hardware acceleration up to full"

I've DirectX 8a...
BTW the audio option was already switched to "full acceleration".

It keeps on hanging :-(

I don't know what can i do, since there are no new drivers for my sound or graphics cards...
