GameBanshee Posts F:POS Interview

Oooh, how lovely. I especially love the fact that guy considers someone who knows how to fight in all three ways available in POS a "jack-of-all-trades".

With a wide range of skills, you can decide to concentrate on improving your melee combat ability - turning your character into a walking engine of pugilistic destruction - or you can hone your ranged weapon and explosive skills and take people out from afar. Mixing these up will create a 'jack-of-all-trades', allowing you to dabble in everything. It really all comes down to your own personal tastes.

So you have the option to buttonmash-shoot with guns.... throwing explosives.... or fighting melee. No strategical decisions. You know, I dearly hope that you can at least aim for a specific body part and cripple it. Otherwise... it'd be like Fallout combat. Except 5 years later, less strategy, less options, and less fun.

Hey, Roshambo, this is way off topic, but are you Roshambo Warrior from the OOOLLLLDDDDD Interplay Fallout boards by chance?

Just to be on topic, yeah, this is dumb.

They sure seem to be lining up to swallow the cheese flavored Frenchman's spoo. Kind of funny a CRPG site that claims they love Fallout CRPGs is going all out to pimp the fucking game that killed the Fallout CRPG legacy when it isn't even a CRPG.

I wonder if they'll link to all their Fallout Enforcer pimping on their fabled, soon to be unvieled FALLOUT: A POST NUCLEAR ROLE-PLAYING GAME TRIBUTE SITE SPECTACULAR.

Hehe, I have decided to stop being an asswipe when it comes to BOS. I kinda just hopped on the "train of hatred" with you guys. True, it doesn't sound like a very great game or a game that I would really enjoy..but I think back on Fallout: Tactics, and realize that it was a true disappointment if you had expected a game in the style of Fo1 and Fo2, but I still love it. It's a good and fun game. I'm not going to defend BOS or anything, but I'm gonna cool it with the bashing at least.

The only thing I really dislike about it now is that it was partly the reason for shelving Fo3, which is a game I was truly looking forward to.

Peace out

(Talking about Fallout-Boy)

However, keep your eyes peeled whilst exploring the game world and you'll also catch sight of him in some new, uh... dimensions.

Great. They're making him an NPC again.

It was lame in Tactics, it's just as, if not more lame in FOBOS.

Really fuckin' original, guys!

Did you notice they were talking about hidden playable characters?

OOHHH hell I hope I'm wrong.

Partly? It's entirely the reason they cancelled Fallout 3. The excuse Darth Molitor gave was that Fallout 3 probably wouldn't be completed on schedule. One big reason it might not make it on that schedule is because Darth Molitor kept pulling people off Fallout 3 to work on Fallout Enforcer: Brothelhood of Steel.

GB: Were any members of the Black Isle team involved with Fallout: BoS, perhaps to help flesh out the storyline and keep it in line with the previous titles? Has the departure of the BIS personnel detracted from the game's development in any way?

Dan: Luckily for us, the BIS guys were very interested in what we were doing with F:BOS, and from the very beginning we had a lot of contact with them regarding storyline, setting and characters. They also provided us with a mountain of information to help out with all the tiny details that litter such a landscape, from timelines to bibles.

The actual design elements were wrapped up quite a while back, with the in-between time left to actually implementing them, and we finished production of the game a little before Christmas and the recent events in BIS.

I call bullshit. I don't recall anyone in BIS who spoke with the FBOS design team and them actually taking our input. Again, I call bullshit. Personally, I never even met this "designer," and I'm uncertain if anyone from the Van Buren team who ever said more than 2 words to him. Maybe it was another BIS team he was referring to... There was little to no interraction between the FOBOS team and the Van Buren team. Yeah, maybe the FOBOS team glanced over the original Fallouts and the Fallout bible, but I distinctly remember Chuck (another one I never met or recall ever seeing) stating that the FOBOS universe is intentionally different than the PC universe (paraphrased, of course).

I just want to make it perfectly clear we of the Van Buren team had nothing to do with FOBOS - period. I can't speak for the rest of the (former) Van Buren team, but I sure as hell don't want to be associated with FOBOS - it's not my cup of rotgut.

Damn straight. I'll 100% confirm this.

OOHHH hell I hope I'm wrong.

Actually, I'm more afraid they're going to rape the Vault Dweller in. He even has a cameo on the FOBOS website, which alone is scary enough.

Yeah, that'd be bad. Annoyingly bad.. About as bad as say.. A Troika vs. BIS special encounter.

That'd be fine as long as the BOS team appeared. And you could shoot them.

I'm gonna commit suicide on top of the Interplay building. If I time it right I should land ontop of the F:POS and some of the Interplay executives.

If only we can get someone from the media to do a real interview for the truth. Maybe we could get some truths like, "yes we raped the Fallout series" and "I'm a lying asshole".
