For those who haven't played STALKER, it's a post-apocalyptic action FPSRPG. It's basically Fallout 3 if Fallout 3 wasn't shit. Oh, and it takes place in Chernobyl and has many more elements of psychological horror.
To summarize, it's
-Single-player
-Open world
-Post-apocalyptic
-an FPS with some RPG elements
-Not shit
I've recently gotten hooked on Call of Pripyat (the third game in the series) but before playing the others I want to know if there are any games like STALKER. I have a few games I've heard are like STALKER, but I know aren't.
-Metro 2033/Metro Last Light; I didn't like 2033 but I did like Last Light. I've a). already played them and b). noticed they were always (mostly figuratively, sometimes literally) on-rails. I'm looking for open-world games.
-Fallout 3/4/New Vegas; I've played both 3 and New Vegas (NV > everything else in the franchise) and I plan on playing 4, even if just to criticize it, but I'm already aware of their existence. Speaking of,
-Fallout 1/2; Somebody recommended them to me because... they share a post-apocalyptic element? IDK. Point is, they're not even close to what I'm looking for. I've already played them, anyways.
-Survarium/Escape from Tarkov; Multiplayer. Ew... I live in Flagstaff, where we get worse internet than the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone. So... MMOs are a no. Besides, MMOs are tied to a central server, which is a no-no for me.
-Unturned; Someone recommended this to me. I thought it was alright and threw five bucks at the dev, but it's just not what I'm looking for.
So, NMA, what do you have locked away in your Steam/GOG/Origin (shudders) libraries?
