I was noticing that Miro slammed Gamespy on the main page when citing there is a new version, and I have to say I agree. It sucks, I can't play multiplayer with it at all despite countless efforts. I was wondering if there is another way to play multiplayer without using gamespy (assuming you don't know the IP and you're not on a lan). If everyone hates it so much, what else do they use?

I haven't tried the new version, but for me the old version ran as smooth as silk and kicked the butt of any of the older multiplayer programs (MPlayer, Heat.net, Microsoft Gaming Zone, etc.) I've tried. I plan on using the new version after the patch comes out to enforce 6-character squads again; these 'one super character' parties really turn me off.
Is it the new version that's screwing you guys up, or have you always hated GameSpy?
