Gecko in a Can

First time out of the vault
This may sound weird for most of you but maybe someone has an answer. Does anyone know what is in the Gecko in a Can? It was given out as part of a gift bag at the Fallout 2 release party. I've kept mine un-opened all this time and I've always wonder what if anything is in it. This comes up because of nostalgia I've been having for the past BIS titles in the wake of the demise of FO3 and BIS. Sorry if this seems too off the wall but i really have been curious for a long time. Thanks for any insight and I apologize if this has been asked and answered before. Thank You.

Are you sure there is anything in there? They used to sell air in a can as a gimmick some time ago.

Sounds like a cool gimmick. Got a pic of it?

No pictures. Sorry. I should borrow my friends Digital camera and take some. Its actually rather clever, it has an ingredients list, Nurtitional Information, and suggested ways of serving.

There's a stuffed plush gecko inside. I have one too since I worked on the game and was at the party. :)

I've never opened mine either but others did so saw the gecko.

A little bit of trivia. Originally it was suppose to be "Dogmeat in a Can" but the only dog stuffed animal they had had a red bow around the neck so no one thought that would look right. When they found there was a gecko available they used that instead.

Thanks. I always wondered what could be in their. I have pictures of it now so i'll put some up. Thank you again.

Can any of you guys describe the event more thoroughly? The website only gives a brief overview.

Also, for former BIS employees - someone was filming the event, whatever happened to the tapes? Can I see them?

There is a white plastic Black Isle bag, Fallout 2 sticker, bumper sticker, a black and white signed lithograph of the design team, a white t-shirt with the fallout 2 logo on the front and the slogan "War Never Changes" on the back with a picture of the Advanced power armor, a demo disc of black isle games, and i think that was it. I can't find it right now but i'll post anything i missed if I find it.

I have no idea. To my knowledge there weren't that many made or given out, plus i don't think they were ever sold.

You could just make your own. Or print out whatver logo you want and have someone else make it for you.

Over on the Fallout Forums a user messaged me requesting I sell my Gecko-in-a-Can.
He also wanted photos of the gecko from within the can (apparently most of the other floating about are still sealed for fear of what might be inside).

I would never sell mine, but I did agree to post some pictures of the Gecko and the Can, signed by the mods of the old Interplay forums.

Just in case anyone here cared:

With permission I suppose it would be great to have these uploaded in the nma files/image database

There already is an ancient thread on Gecko in a Can. Merging.

That's some impressive merging, duder!

By Saturday Morning! When it comes to merging threads, I HAVE THE POWER, but when it comes to impressive forum searching, THE POWER IS YOURS.

Appreciate the photos, Tel. How'd you come across it?
Gifted by one of the community managers on the old Interplay forums. His tag was 'Aqua'.
The autographs there are are all interplay folk. Not sure if they are also Blackisle folk, as they've signed their forum handles.

Do whatever you'd like with the photos. :D
