I like Fallout 1, I loved Fallout 2.
And then I found this for $20.

Is this good?

Is there online play?
Do people still play it online?
How much lag on a 28K?
 
It's worth buying for $20 although it is alot different than FO1 &2. It is completely combat oriented and not much of an RPG. But it has a similar atmosphere and slightly improved interface. And it has great editors to make your own maps and campaigns.

I have never played multiplayer but there are still people playing it. A 28K modem probably would suck, you might want to find some friends with the game, network your computers and have a lan party. You can try here for people still playing MP:

yeah BOS is alright..
jagged alliance series is better though.
that said, fallout 1 is one of my top three games of all time.
fallout 2 rocks, but didnt blow my socks off like fallout when i first played it. very few games have impressed me as much as fallout did when i first played it back in '97
