Good TTS software

I need good TTS (Text-to-Speech) software (as realistic-sounding as possible) with ability to save audio as a file on the HDD, stat! Doesn't matter if it's freeware or not.

Thanks.

The only program I have that even vaguely resembles what you are saying is called Talk-It. You can type in words and choose from over 20 different voices and it plays them fairly well. No save though. Sorry.

Fruity Loops now includes a 'Speech Engine', which allows a variety of vocoder-like effects to be achieved. A vocal phrase is simply typed in and can then be replayed using a range of over 20 different voice styles.

Works very uncomplicated. Type in your text and choose personality, style and mode. You can also select the speed and the pitch.

To save it you would need to place it in the track and hit "save".

It still sounds very computer-generated. Any programs that allow more natural voices to be saved as audio files? Preferrably with static in the background (imagine radio chatter), although I guess that could be added later.
