Great Bend *** stuck ***

I have almost killed every robot.

My question is this. Once you get to the end of the map, there is an area that has a crusher mechanism and just north of that is a giant building with a gate. I cannot open the gate and the control for it in the gated area. Does this gate open any other way? Is there any more robots in there? Is it essential to beating this level?

Any assistance would be appreciated.

As far as I remember there is a couple of switches on that level, the mission is just seek and destroy (Metallica style), you need to kill all robots. I also had doors not opening and npcs not speaking, but not in that level.
 
kill the robot thats almost crushed by a blig rock if u havent alredy
 
You don't need to go in this area at all if you've finished off the already crippled Pacification robot in the adjacent warehouse. There is (unless you've killed him) a Load Leveler robot and at least one humanoid robot in this area, but I don't believe there is any loot.
