Satan Claws?
No you moron, me! Kilroy, the annoying little guy who had a hundred-something argue with Xotor about anarchism. I haven't been here for a while now. The reasons? Well first of all I haven't played FO/FO2 in a long time now. Me know. Me bad person.
Second I've been tabletopping alot and discussed that on various Vampire: the Masquerade sites. So? How is everyone? Has Fang or Yamu or whoever promised me to do so written up a story based on my adventures with Rat-Catcher on the Roleplaying board yet? j/k If you don't want to do so don't. But I would really appreatiate it if you did.
One of the reasons that I'm back is that I'm soon going to buy FOT. So, if it's really hard I might come back to the FOT help board. So, have a good time everyone.

A warning about FOT.

Despite them claiming "All the best things from Fallout", it sure as hell is anything BUT that. Count on the possibility of not being able to play more than 2-5 minutes before a BOS.EXE crash or any number of things - including the savegame screw-up STILL being present despite the current patch being 1.27. As well, some of the perks still don't work properly, burst fire has a bug so you can hit people you can't even see or theoretically shouldn't even be able to HIT, much less do obscene amounts of damage. You can't hop over a small wall of sandbags, but you can nail people you shouldn't be able to with burst fire.

Basically, take all the bugs you remember from Fallout 2 and up them a notch or ten and if you had the Kernel32.dll error on occasion, think about not being able to play the game not more than 5 minutes without a crash. Seems to be a pretty widespread problem as well.

The only reason to play this game would be for the multiplayer, as the single-player campaign is laughable to an extreme and looks like it was created with every rejected idea in the development of Fo1 and Fo2 that graced the bit-bucket. The 'humor' that was in Fo1 and put a bit more heavily in Fo2 - now resembles Disney's Crotch Jokes™, and are about as annoyingly repeated (or beaten over your head at every turn) worse than a recent SNL skit.

So if you're not planning on taking a gamble with multiplayer, I'd advise against buying the game - at least until it hits the bargain bin. By JA2 instead if you're going for single-player.

Kilroy was here.

And he's back!

Yamu`s brother destroyed his comp (with a hammer !!!) so he lost a lot of his work, Fang hasn`t been much active but he is still co-web master of the Illuminati
( http://www.theilluminati.f2s.com ) and sometimes shows up on the fan-fic boards, he`ll be pleased to find you, tell him something on those boards.

Arcanum is MUCH deeper than BG, i think we will like it.

Welcome back

Brios was here ;-)

Hardly a BG copy..

For one thing, it uses a custom character system designed for the game. BG is just another tired and linear AD&D game.

For another, Arcanum offers gobs of options in terms of dialogue, character customization, and so on. It's a classless system like Fallout was.

RE: eh eh

He wanted to install something, so he thought that by slaming the thing and hiting it with a hammer that would help (really!!!)

I find that hitting and whacking the computer does help "fix" things in that it relieves some stress, but to the point of damaging the hardware....
