Gyah! Big-time problem.

Mialdor900

First time out of the vault
Okay, I'm wanting to edit the protos, right? I go through the steps in the following order:
Created directory- C:/Fallout 2/proto/{tiles, critters, etcetera}
Edited- mapper2.cfg so that librarian=1
Saved- mapper2.cfg
Ran- Mapper2.exe {or whatever it is}
Crashed- Mapper2.exe
Realized- I didn't have the /dev/ directory in c:/fallout 2/
Realized- I had a space in the directory. changed it to c:/fallout2/dev/proto/{etc.} after deleting another folder {c:/fallout2/} which I hadn't realized existed
Ran- Mapper2.exe
Crashed- Mapper2.exe
Played- Fallout2.exe {again, or whatever}. It got past the splash screen and then crashed
Tried the following:
-changed librarian back to 0
-uninstalled the mapper
-reinstalled the mapper
-deleted the c:/fallout2/ directory
:::The Mapper and game still crash:::
This is a big problem for me {and anyone else, for that matter}.
Can anyone please help me?

Has either the mapper or the game worked as they should on the computer that you're using?

Since both the mapper and the game doesn't work you could try everything that would make the game work (check out the interplay forums etc.).

Have you done anything with direct x? I think there's a quite common problem concerning the video acceleration, or something like that. As i said, try searching the iply boards, the issue has been covered there for sure.
