Has S.T.A.L.K.E.R. SoC any quest enchantment mods?

First time out of the vault
I recently played throw vanilla Stalker. After finishing it I installed Oblivion Lost. I was surprised to discover how greatly the overall atmosphere was enhanced and how so much better were the weapons rebalanced (compared to the vanilla). Still there was one thing bugging me: the world of The Zone offers some pretty good basis to create some interesting and well-made quests. Also, most importantly, the engine offers the feature to create dialogue trees. Couple this with the endless possibilities of The Zone and you have the change to write some interesting dialogue with fleshed- out and memorable characters.

So the question: are there any mods for Stalker that create new an unique quests. Also, are there any mods that add new dialogue trees with new and interesting characters?

You'll have to check out the Priboi Story mod. You get to play a different character, a soldier investigating a secret organisation linked to the events in Tchernobyl. It happens about a year after Strelok story from vanilla.

It's actually quite good. It plays a lot like the original, but you visit the different places with differents goals and people. Most of the job constitutes in finding well hiding documents, clues about the group you're looking for. Perfect if you want to pass more time stalking in the Zone.

You can find information there:

Priboi Story is okay, but it's rather unbalanced and some of the map changes make as much sense as the structural changes in Clear Sky. The freeplay from the start didn't really work with the idea of a Military Officer following mission orders.

It's worth trying but be careful when responding to mission objectives you get from your pda. You'll get them from just being in the right area whether you're ready for them or not. And whatever you do don't talk to Sidorovich (when you finally find him) unless you've already been to Yantar.

Personally I gave up after fighting my way into Pripyat to find a document, fighting my way back out to go again to find the next, then having to go back to Pripyat and then fight my way out again. It got a little tedious after a while.

Nope, but it has most of the same or at least similar changes as OL. Blowouts, cutout mutants, sleeping bag, vehicles etc. Plus they changed the transistion points on several maps so you can explore a little more.

Agreed on the lack of polish of Priboi Story (could make this a pun since modders are from Hungary and not Poland, hehe), too bad no SDK was made available until now. There might be more attempts to new stories inside the Zone.

Can someone help me out with Oblivion Lost? What's the latest (or I guess most stable) version? Anything else I should do to enhance the game experience? Link me, please.

Well I tried the Priboi story but it was too buggy for me (for a while I got it to work but after the first blowout it still started to constantly crash). IMHO the mod suffers from the scope it is trying to achieve: it would be easier to implement different sub-quests in the original campaign then to try to create a totally new one from scratch.

Still when returning to my original question I was actually thinking more along the lines of improved sub-quests in the original Strelok main plot. Like scripted quests among the usual fed-ex (find the enchanted rifle/kill the zombie pack/murder the soldier etc) ones. Are there any these kind of mods or is Priboi so far the only one?

Btw I have been hearing of a improved arena mod. Can anyone shed some light on what exactly has been improved?

The Arena Extension Mod replaces the existing arena system with a new system in which you choose what you want to fight. You can also opt to watch a fight between factions of your choosing. If I were you, I would just get the Supermodpack, which includes the AEM, OL 2.2, Arsenal mod, and several great little addons that really make it shine.
