Why not have Obi-Wan as one of the NPCs, maybe even Darth Vader and for a robot, have R2D2

Throw in some thermal detonators and a lightsaber

PS : to prevent copyright siuts , change the look a little differently

guess why!

becuz it's a stupid idea!
It's not fallout. I have always been an encourager of reality, therefore I simply HATE things that refer to the game as it being a game. For instance the bridgekeeper (1) of cafe of broken dreams (2): (1) your character says: "I think I should save my game in a brand new slot!" or (2) all those morons saying they wanted a bigger role in Fallout or Fallout 2. And then you want YODA!? Personaly, I thougth Goris looked like Yoda, and skynet like R2D2.
Next thing you know these freaks want a treevillage filled with EWOKS (they blow). A Snowspeeder or X-wing for transportation. Characters with the for and Yedi- or Darth alignments. A Jungle-,Desert- and Snowplanet to choose from. Where is it gonna stop!?

I hope I made myself clear, and if not, just read the first line a couple of times.

I'm back (temporarily)

RE: guess why!

i dont think you have the right of it entierly ya puting SW in the game is a little silly but fallout made fun of pop cultuer hence the references to comics movies TV shows ect. it is part of the fallout world to provide random off the wall referecese to the twentyth centuery (perticularly the parts that beg to be made fun of or are full of them selfs) it might lose some one who is not familuler with the game or history but if you are it is a blast

RE: guess why!

Maybe so, but there are many fallout fans (including myself) who think there were too much pop-culture references in the game. If you've played the first fallout you know that the atmosphere in that game was a lot darker. Creepy even in some places. That's the feel they should be aiming at for the third installment. And lots of pop-culture references don't really fit with that.

RE: guess why!

good point but there needs to be a balence between the insperation behind fallout (it is based in the pop consuimer cultuer of the 50's and so is going to have to make references to events and products at that time)and good natuerd fun at what was in between the fiftys and the time that fallout was based on perhaps what is needed is more cinisum and sarcasum in the refernces made would that darken the mood for you? im sugesting things more along the lines of the "duck and cover" pap put out by the gov and swallowed by the people there is lots of things out there that sosiaty has embrased at the time that when looking bakwords should be ridiquled

RE: guess why!

personally i hated all the jokes & crap like that in fallout 2, it really brought you back out into the real world, then you had to concentrate to get back into the game.
there were so many the first time i played it i almost took it back to the shop.

anyway why would u want yoda?!
i want an AT-AT as a party member, an AT-ST "Chicken-Walker" would do tho

RE: guess why!

But yes, it is too weird, I mean, why would those guys from a galaxy far far away go to that place?

RE: guess why!

i just thought from the previous fallouts that star wars was not a big thing with the BIS crew. and thank god too. id like to see some more monty python easter eggs, like Mr Hilter running for mayor. that was so damn funny, i mean it could even be used as a quest, help mr hilter get elected as mayor. or he could pay you to endorse him if youre idolized in a certain city. thiunk about it

Look for a darker FO3:

It was known to me that Fallout 2 was a bit...well...shall we say, full of everyone's little tidbit. Possibly a "too many cooks" problem, with everyone wanting to put in their own little easter egg and such. They have already realised this, and I strongly believe they are going to go back to the darker Fallout 1 formula, and possibly make one or two (perhaps more), grand pop-culture references, and some smaller and numerous other ones. I don't think it will be even half as rampant as Fo2's references were.

I don't see Yoda or anyone else becoming an NPC, but I can see a possible encounter, perhaps a reference hidden somewhere.

Fallout 1 had it's own neat blend of references, and they were a challenge and a joy to figure out at times when you found them. But Fo2 had too many references, and you actually had to weed them out to find the game at times.

Here's to a darker Fo3....

yes what about this

yeh I agree but maybe once the game is finished it can unlock loads of fun bits like more random
special ecounters maybe you could have goris as an
yoda figure trainig your charecter up . i dont know about BIS bieng star wars fans what about the end hey killing a huge big guy and the having
to escape from the ship .

da (dont shot me i'm just the idears man)crinja
