healing powder= -1 perception?!

ok, i just started playing fallout 2, and was suprised when after i healed my character with healing powder, he just lost perception points! i mean..wtf so, are those points forever lost, or will they come back in a while? or is there any other way to get them back?
oh and antother thing. how do i instal the patch? thx u guys, bye

Don't worry, the points will come back. But your limbs won't when mods rip them off because you posted this query in the wrong forum.

How can you be surprised about the loss of perception?
It even says in the description of the healing powder, something like "It brings a feeling of sleepiness to your head" (can't remember the exact wording).
What did you think that meant?

Between that and the weight (IE: It had a weight, unlike stimpacks), healing powder was pretty much useless, except in an emergency.

I used it on CNPCs when they were wounded before leaving a map, by the time they reached the next map they were back to normal perception (they wouldnt always have enough time to heal naturaly)

BTW.. if u'r thinking of installing the patch, then dont play it untill after, cos u wont be able to use the old savegames....ehe
