So the forum is empty AGAIN. Now everyone should see this after I posted this.

YEP! So now I can post my idea's about F3.

I heard F3 will be so big that it will be unbelieveable if it would come on just 1 cd-rom so maybe there could be the whole thing from California on the world map or even more.

The game shouldn't be like F:Tactics 'cause F:Tactics looks more a Strategy game to me and we all know Fallout games are Role Playing.

Maybe there should be less Trainers and at least 1 REAL cheat except the Credits 'cheat'.

MORE than 1 kind of enemies who are the real enemies that really should be destroyed(like Frank and the Master).

The BOS should be bigger then just few men like in F2. With a stronger armor than a Power Armor and other cool stuff.

More weapons, more armors, more books, more NPC's, more towns, more enemies, more food and drink, more Misc. items, more talking heads, more chems.

BRING BACK HAROLD! With fruit growing on Bob the tree!

That's about all for now from me. Okay, these things are just idea's. What do you think about it?

You could have shortened down your message by saying " I want more of everything that's good about Fallout!" I think we all want that. But I also want Fallout Tatics. Does that make me some kind of heretic?

I do hope it takes up eight CDs.

I figure they should just include a cheat program with it. Hell, those people who want to cheat will, those who don't won't.

I think there should be good guy and badguy paths to take and all. I liked how PS:T never gave you your real purpose at the beginning and your had to find it in the game.

Uh huh, and tanks, and cruisers, and flying mech suits. If anything they should stay the same.

More stuff.

I like his talk.

Anyone remember first XCOM. Trying to get troops deployed, often taking fire before force deployed or being a little jumpy when first exploring an area? If in a vehicle and ambushed first turn or two should be on the receiving end.
Should perception reveal how much you see OR are aware of,i.e. perception of 5, it's daylight, you see maybe 25 hexes around you, night would cut it to 15. Optical equipment could be implemented.
How about crouching, supported or prone shooting to increase accuracy--sniping?
Maybe I'm on the wrong track but I'd like to see possibility of a stealthy tactical feel. Never been into FPS's, maybe straying into their territory? Comments?

Well. surely no one can argue with having the option to play as an African American player character. I'm not black, but I would love to play as as a Shaft-esque player.

" Who's that black private dick, who's a sex machine to all the chicks?"

"Shaft!"

Can you dig it?:P

8 CDs?

Are you mad?? If there was FO3 and it took up more than 2 CDs, just put it on DVD. That's what the creators of REALMyst are doing (or was it Myst 3?). Anywho, it's a pain to switch CDs, esp. if you have 8 of them stacked up there.

Of course, and also on FMD-ROM.

I had no problem with the four CDs Planescape: Torment had. I just copied them all to the hard drive. With the prices of hard drives being $100 for 100 gig by the time Fallout 3 comes out I have no qualms copying over eight CDs to my hard drive which is what I will do with Fallout 3's CDs anyway. Eight CDs, what, that's about 4.8 gigs? Big deal. I can put that on my hard drive NOW if I cleared out some of the more useless stuff.

Trust me, ALWAYS copy over the CDs, it speeds up load times by about 20x at least in PS:T and I'm not exaggerating.

Hell, I was limitting myself with 8 CDs. I'd prefer as many as 16 CDs.

Forget DVD, it can suck it. I'm all for FMD-ROM. WHile DVD can hold only a paltry 4.7 gig per CD, FMD-ROMs can hold up to 140 gig. It is also proposed the drive will transfer up to 1 gigabit per second. I sure wouldn't mind Fallout 3 on one of those!

Fallout on DVD?

I think THAT would be a bad idea. Why? Alot of people (including myself) do not own a DVD player. Now correct me if I'm wrong, but you can't play a DVD on a normal CD-ROM drive can you?
I sure as hell do not have the money to go buy a DVD player then buy Fallout. I'm one of the most dedicated Fallout Fans out there....and It would suck if I could not play the Third installment of the Greatest CRPG series I know of (keep in mind Planescape: Torment isn't a series, hehehe)

RE: Fallout on DVD?

See, if you don't have the money, and want to buy something you don't the money for -- get a job then. Hell, you can get a CD-RW drive w/ a DVD combo all in one, like my brother's computer. And a lot of new games will not work on older machines, so often you WILL need to get a new computer, not just for games of course, that's the dumbest excuse ever. Just because you don't have something, doesn't mean the company is going to make to suit your requirments. Example: Starcraft for Mac. It was at first supposed to work on a very old system. But since there were new Operating Systems made, they figured people would be using the more advanced stuff. I had to buy a new computer just run the damn game!

Plus, 8 CDs is total crap. No way I'd get something on more than 5, maybe, 6 is a bit extreme for a game, like they did for Bulder's Gate. Plus, to suit the needs of anyone who doesn't have a DVD drive, they COULD do the 8 CD thing and a DVD version. But of course, who knows for sure that FO3 will be even concidered? For those who think it will, don't hold your breath until BOS: Tactics is released. And I think FO3 would be on no more than 4 CDs, to be realistc, just by looking at the graphics, which aren't the best. Maybe only on 2, Riven was on 5 and the graphics were pretty good. It was also long...
Well, I'm through for now.

I think the highest count possible will be 3 CD-roms

And what if you're not old enough to get a job yet eh?

Not old enough for a JOB??

How can you not be old enough for a job? Anyone can get a job, as long as you meet the standards! And if you're not old enough to get a job, should you be playing Fallout? Just kidding, I'm 15 and play Fallout. Who the hell listens to those ratings anyway? And even I have a job.

DVD disks can hold up to 18 gigs.

You can't write to them you know unless you get a DVD-R. You want to know how much those DVD-R CDs cost? About $20.

Go and buy yourself a CD-R drive, and spend $70 for a 50-pack of CDs. Each hold 650 megs and with the new drives that write at 12x you can record an entire CD in under 6 minutes (my 10x does 7 minutes).

With each CD costing, what, $1.20? 6 gig/650 megs is about 10 CDs = 12 bucks. Do the math.

I don't even think that DVD-R disks can even hold 6 gigs. I think they only hold about 4 or so.

Wait until FMD-ROM. 140 gig on one CD, 1 gigabit (for those who don't know, equivalent to nearly a 7,000x CD-ROM rating, 1,073,741,824/ 153,600 = 6,990) transfer rate, and drives costing about the same as a regular CD-ROM drive. It'll probably read CD and DVD ROMs too.

I don't understand you logic. You'd rather get less game simply for the fact that you don't want a lot of CDs? Shouldn't it be the other way around?

And what makes you think that Fo3 will still be using the old Fallout engine? That engine is so old and inferior I wouldn't be surprised if Interplay released the source code.

Planescape: Torment was on four CDs (actually the first was merely the install CD), and personally, I wouldn't mind seeing or rather playing, more CDs of game. More bang for your buck huh?

I wouldn't mind Fo3 filling up an entire FMD-ROM (140 gig). That'd be one damned good game. Imagine what could be in the game, the details, the depth. Imagine almost every part of the map and game interactive. Imagine real-sized cities, not just the dinky three-block towns, or rather hamlets, found in Fallout.

RE: Fallout on DVD?

heres my question, whats the comparative price between 18 gigs of hard drive and a dvd drive? i think that its cost prohibitive for most people to go out, but a dvd drive, then buy the game. they should just release 1 cd, and use smarter tighter code. its not that hard.but the most cds i would stand for is 5.

The fewer CDs, the better in my opion

Cause I hate switching CDs all the time, it's very time consuming. Plus, what if you have to go back to a town because you forgot a piece of rope (like I did when I went to the Glow), and the other town is on another CD? Plus, if the loading times are like FO1, it would take a loooooong time just get a piece of rope. I'm sure that FO3 would have better load times.
